K-OUCH by Jiye Lee
Everyone uses their furniture differently—so product designer Jiye Lee created a couch for the entire family. K-OUCH accommodates adults, children, and pets on its multiple levels, while also encouraging play and improving motor skills.
The multiple levels of K-OUCH act as surfaces for sitting or lounging. According to Lee, Korean parents like to sit on the floor with their backs against the couch. Children use the seats or top of the sofa. And pets seemingly relax everywhere.
This is why K-OUCH provides steps for little kids (or dogs) to climb onto the sofa seat. Cats can jump anywhere, of course—and K-OUCH provides lots of built-in areas where felines can nap.
Intended to fit a family or four or five, K-OUCH is proposed in upholstery and matte leather. Lee describes it as “a family gathering couch for Koreans.”
