IIDA/HD Expo Design Award Winner 2024: NOHO HOME Textiles
One of only three woman, minority-owned businesses exhibiting at HD Expo 2024, NOHO HOME Contract has culture at its core. “Our mission is to bring an authentic native Hawaiian aesthetic to the global hospitality, commercial and residential design communities by sharing authentic island experiences and influences through artful design,” NOHO HOME explains.
Founder and Creative Director Jalene Kanani applies her Hawaiian heritage to the contract market—and this representation has transformed the entire concept of “tropical” design. Kanani’s textiles, in particular, feature organic patterns and rich textures that pay tribute to the splendor of the natural world. So it comes as no surprise that NOHO HOME Contract recently won an IIDA/HD Expo Design Award in Textiles: Upholstery Category.
NOHO HOME Contract presented their groundbreaking ʻĀina Innovation Collection at the HD Expo Conference 2024. “Specifically, this revolutionary textile line embodies the spirit of the land (ʻāina) through sustainable manufacturing practices and profound cultural storytelling,” NOHO HOME notes.
NOHO HOME Contract manufactures their textiles at the company’s micro-factory in O’ahu.
