Given his sneak peek on Instagram, Rashid may very well be presenting his Global Love Sculptures at Salone del Mobile 2024. Rashid commented that these sculptures are not yet ready for sale, but we are hoping to see them displayed somewhere during Milan Design Week!

Inspired by his father who made hand-painted ceramics in Paris in the late 1950s, Rashid created his own sculpture collection with figurative visages. The Global Love sculptures exemplify much of Rashid’s work—curvy, colorful, joyful, and inclusive. According to Rashid, “the sculptures express the love between all genders, all races, all cultures to embrace the most important quality necessary between human beings.” Different figures kiss in each of the sculptures, showing that love takes many forms.

The shapes and roundness of the Global Love sculptures express the objectives of his art: to create a more unified, peaceful, and loving world where we accept one another and protect the environment. Rashid believes that people should strive to inject beauty into everything they create, be it silverware, dishes, furniture, or buildings. His work catches the eye and forces the mind to ponder the meaning of each object. Visit his website to view his work and read his Karimanifesto.
