If you’re dreaming of the perfect night’s sleep, stop by the Bolzan showroom next week at Salone del Mobile.Milano at via Mercato 3 to experience “a special space, designed to give shape to your dreams.”

Given the extent to which Bolzan curates every element of the sleeping experience, the term “shape” is apropos. Bolzan not only offers bed frames, but also mattresses, headboards, sofa beds and sofa bed mechanisms, linens, pillows, blankets, and cushions.

The curated fabrics speak to the cohesiveness of Bolzan’s offerings: the company describes this as “textile stories”: “with color as the protagonist, the textures of the fabrics and materials compose not only a space, but also determine the sensations of those who live there.”

During this year’s MIlan Design Week, Bolzan is highlighting two bed collections, Jack-E and Bend-E, both designed by frequent Bolzano Collaborators Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto. Jack-E embodies an elegant minimalism, with naturally varnished wood supporting a slim footboard/headboard available in fabric or leather.

Bend-E has a more industrial feel. With a frame of delicately shaped wrought iron, Bend-E returns to past traditions of iron working in which the material was hand-crafted, in contrast to the machined products typically manufactured today. The designers emphasize how this hands-on approach restore the material to its original roots: “We wanted to draw on that ancient imagery and rework it into a contemporary product, combining traditional craftsmanship with design.” Color within the frame is achieved via manual application of naturally pigmented waxes.
