HD Expo 2024: Astro Lighting
Astro Lighting will be exhibiting at the HD expo + conference in Las Vegas from April 30 until May 2, 2024. The conference is focused on hospitality design, which gives Astro Lighting a chance to unveil new products, including the Zeppo and Versailles Collections.
First of all, I have to mention how much I love the name Astro Lighting, which reminds me of the fabulous dog Astro from the cartoon show The Jetsons. The name also calls to mind everything astronomical and intergalactic. So let’s look at a rather space-inspired lighting collection named Zeppo (and frankly, if the Jetsons ever got another dog, it should be named Zeppo)!
The Zeppo Collection includes pendant, ceiling, wall, and reader lights—and a portable lamp. Each of these features a planetary ovoid form that Astro Lighting describes as an “elliptical shade, reminiscent of a Zeppelin airship.” The blown opal glass creates a lovely glow. It pairs beautifully with any of the available finishes: Polished Chrome, Matt Nickel, Matt White, Matt Black, and Light Bronze. Most of the lamps in the Zeppo Collection are damp-rated for safe use in bathrooms.
Although every product is attractive—given the celestial vibe of the collection—Zeppo Portable is a real darling. Cordless and easy to carry, Zeppo Portable could be at home anywhere in a hotel room. Bring it to a desk or lounge chair for convenient task lighting. Use it at an in-room table to enjoy dinner in a warm glow.
Personally, I think every hotel room should have a portable light—and I’m going to be disappointed if I don’t get one the next time I’m on vacation.
Ideal for historic hotels, the Versailles Collection pays tribute to the 1930s. The Art Deco-inspired vertical lines on the glass rods refract light beautifully. And the finishes (Polished Chrome, Bronze, and Matt Gold) add a touch of streamlined glamour.
Versailles is the perfect light for elegant hotel bathrooms. Put one on either side of a vanity mirror for a perfectly balanced design. Hotel bathrooms should have a level of luxury way beyond the home bathroom—and Versailles makes guests feel like a million bucks.
