Untitled(s) by Henry Burke @ Herron School
These designs, concepts in form and function, are the work of Henry Burke, who is a Furniture Design student studying at Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI, a school which is to be newly recognized as IU Indianapolis by summer of 2024.
This bespoke chair, “Untitled,” is complete with a sense of lightness and movement. It is from Burke’s furniture showcase where he demonstrates a mastery of subdued, yet playful curvature.
Equally expertly crafted are a matched pair of side tables, “Untitled,” establishing Burke’s innate sense of talent when considering function, aesthetics, and assembly.
The foundation of Herron’s professional program designed for makers is rooted in contemporary woodworking, but the program also places equal emphasis on thinking and creating designs with sustainability at its core.
