You’ll feel like you’re tip-toeing among the clouds with Modi from Ascend Stairs. Hidden within the walls, the stringers support cantilevered treads that appear to pass right through the glass.

A slightly different take on it in this East Village Residence. Powder-coated metal fittings hide the junction between treads and glass.

This one spirals around and around like a nautilus shell. The curved masonry wall supports the treads. And the cool chrome suspension lamps do a good job of floating too.
