Wilsonart’s High Pressure Laminate for Healthcare
Saint Luke’s Rehabilitation Center in Overland Park, Kansas is a state-of-the-art facility treating patients with a variety of injuries that often require long healing times. Designers thus made every effort to create a welcoming atmosphere with an aesthetic appealing to people across generations.
Wilsonart’s Walnut Heights high-pressure laminate was a natural choice for interior millwork and doors—as it complies with the project’s priority on “durability, cleanability, and wellness-focused surfaces.”
Walnut Heights features AEON Enhanced Scratch & Scuff-Resistant Performance Technology, featuring a resin-treated paper finish that’s processed under high heat to preserve looks and resist damage in transit, during installation, and throughout product life.
The natural wood look also accords with Saint Luke’s emphasis on biophilic design, as incorporating natural colors and textures is proven to enhance wellness and speed heating times.
Ashlee Deck, Lead Architect, further expounds on the advantages of Walnut Heights: “Wilsonart’s wood looks are very realistic, which allows a hospital to have a high-end look without sacrificing durability, wear and tear, and overall aesthetics.”
