Davis Furniture’s Lightwork Seating
With the definition of the workplace continuing to evolve and meld with concepts of home, we’re pleased to see Davis Furniture’s Lightwork seating, designed by London-based Jonathan Prestwich.
A mobile and convertible chair with an intriguing Yin/Yang aesthetic, Lightwork responds to the live/work demands of the COVID era.
The principal innovation is the integration between the plush upholstered seat and outer molded plastic shell—wherein is concealed a smart mechanism that intuits the user’s natural movement for targeted support and gentle recline.
The chair’s soft portion moves within the confines of the shell’s rigid support, achieving a best-of-both worlds effect of comfort and control. (Check out the chair in action).
Lightwork further ups the adaptability quotient with five base designs and six striking shell colors: “providing options for any environment—from small meeting rooms and training rooms to cafés and private offices.”
