While the formula may be simple, the process is anything but. Zachary A.’s artisans must manipulate resin and pigments around grains of crushed glass within the context of a rotating mold and an expiring clock: “As the resin hardens, the formation phase slows to a crawl and then ceases.”

The expectation is part and parcel of the excitement. Each piece is a unique rendering of a core aesthetic inspired by California’s Coronado beach: patterns made by shifting sands, by winds and tides, by the play of shadow and light on seawater.
