Operating within the creative constraint of “design a light to look good in a NY Loft,” Monika Mulder and Swedish Brand Pholc teamed up for the Mobil 100 Pendant, available through Global Lighting.

In conceiving of this mobile mobil of a contemporary chandelier, Mulder thought of the mise en scene of NYC, notably Manhattan’s metal balcony racks and the old-school lamps that light the Brooklyn Bridge.

Thus, the combination of straight and thin with big and bulbous, resulting in a dynamic lightpiece with just the right mix of Scandinavian minimalism and Baroque exuberance.

Mobil 100 is available in brushed brass, matte black, and matte nickel. A wall lamp and table lamp are available too.
