A New Peak at PK22
Cool. Classic. Contemporary. Poul Kjærholm’s PK22 Lounge Chair for Fritz Hansen is back and we’re very glad about it.
Truth is it never left us. The timeless industrial meets elegant design is everywhere and it seems it’s always been thus. Just like other modern icons the Barcelona Chair and the Eames Lounge. But today—and for a mere year hence—PK22 is available in a new smoke grey upholstery, courtesy of Fritz Hansen.
Thanks, Fritz. This really makes our day. Like van der Rohe said, form should follow function. Kjærholm’s contribution to this timeless aphorism emerges from his interest in the aesthetics and structural potential of raw steel—a notion central to his graduate project at the University of Copenhagen. By intentionally putting the structure on display, Kjærholm helped create a new design look and lexicon.
The gray upholstery opens up further aesthetic terrain, as its muted look pairs nicely with vivid colors.
See Fritz Hansen to get yours. And throw in the PK33 and PK91 Stools too, also in limited release with the smoke grey upholstery.
