Architectural Profile: Prizeotel Bremen by Karim Rashid
While we usually write about newly completed exteriors in our Architectural Profile series, we are shifting gears today to focus on interiors. The recently unveiled Prizeotel Bremen features everything—“even the breakfast spoons”—designed by Karim Rashid.
Of course, it’s blobulous. But it also represents a revolutionary hotel concept in that it brings great design to the masses. Prizeotel Bremen lauds itself as an “economy-design-Hotel.”
While the rooms are compact, they include everything you need and everything in style—from innovative lighting and headboards in organic shapes to desks and flatscreens with gleaming surfaces.
With pops of Rashid color, notably neon pink and green, as well as sinuous shapes, Prizeotel Bremen creates a space that’s high-tech and current. It is design for today, in other words. There is nothing archaic here, yet the hotel interior remains warm and inviting with wood tables and walls balancing out Rashid’s iconic plastics.
The standout lobby includes globose Kloud Chairs, blooming Fiore wood stools, and a sparkling collection of Nafir lamps (in chrome, they resemble liquid mercury). Prizeotel Bremen is the perfect set for a travel getaway. It’s a new world, and Karim Rashid invites you to enjoy it.
