XtraLight’s Hyatt LAX Grand Ballroom Project
As part of an historic renovation of the former Concourse Hotel near LAX, the Hyatt Regency Corporation wanted a highly functional, beautiful, and energy-efficient lighting installation for their 14,000 square foot grand ballroom. But they ran into a grave problem early in the process, the lighting manufacturer provided an unacceptable product: “the sub-par fixture didn’t meet any of the standards set forth during the specification. Not only was it poorly constructed, it had dark spots from inconsistent lighting due to the use of LED strip tape.”
Luckily for all parties, XtraLight stepped in to design, manufacture, and deliver the stunning, customized LED fixtures. With a demanding lead-time of just six weeks, XtraLight developed the TBF, “Triangular Ballroom Fixture.”
All told, XtraLight manufactured, certified, and delivered a total of 142 custom fixtures. The TBFs met the demanding design specifications: dimmable drivers, 3000K CCT, frosted acrylic lenses, perforated sides, post-painted, low wattages, and ETL-Listed.
XtraLight’s rapid response and exacting conformance to specifications produced the desired outcome: “all parties involved were ecstatic with the end result… with the help of XtraLight, the Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport opened the innovative meeting space on time for its grand re-opening to show off the upscale, contemporary decor.”
The grand ballroom is quite a sight. From any angle and at any height, the TBFs offer even, glare-free illumination, creating a brightly lit space with a compelling aesthetic. Read more about XtraLight’s work with Hyatt Regency LAX, and see the company website for further information.
