Renaissance Collection by Knoll Textiles

With the Renaissance Collection by Knoll Textiles, everything old is new again. The collection includes four fabrics and two wallcoverings, all of which can be combined to great effect.

Chiseled combines Old-World Italian screen-printings techniques with a durable 100% polyester fabric. Each of the six jewel-like colors uses a ground color plus five screen colors along with metallic and nonmetallic pigments. Bronze, Moonlit, and Merlot are particularly fetching, while Splendor (a combination of citrine and emerald) is unapologeticaly bold.

Instinct offers the most variety, with 15 usable colors in a soft and cozy woven upholstery fabric. Rebel—“ inspired by textural elements on the walkways and side streets of Milan”—incorporates black yarn and novelty slub yarn in both the warp and weft directions to create nubby texture.

The other standout in the Renaissance Collection is Network, an “architectural lace” that serves as a curtain wall or room divider. The net-like fabric allows light to pass through while providing some privacy.

Quarry and Tandem round out the collection. These two wallcoverings provide texture and pattern in subtle variations. Quarry is a modern take on grasscloth. Tandem represents “the age-worn distressed walls seen on buildings in Milan.”
