The urban environment was the point of reference for nortstudio, a studio and workshop based in Antwerp, Denmark, when creating its new Urban Shapes Bench Series.

With their sights set on construction sites in particular, designers Jef De Brabander and Kathleen Opdenacker created a bench made out of sustainably sourced steel and wood, two materials that are key components to construction projects.

The duo combined the materials in a variety of primary shapes and colors, and envision the benches to be best suited for public use in cities, such as in parks and museums. However, the benches are appropriate for private use too.
