At NeoCon 2018: Davis Dances the Tango
Tango from Davis Furniture is like a cool summer breeze: an aesthetic experience, exquisitely tactile, awe-inspiring in its simplicity and perfection.
The folks at Contract Magazine seem to agree with the assessment, having bestowed upon this beautiful bent wood chair the coveted NeoCon Gold in the category of Guest Seating.
Tango definitely hearkens back to the flawlessness of Modern design, and this is no wonder, as the piece was designed by Jehs + Laub, the wunderkind duo from Stuttgart, who have enjoyed quite a fruitful collaboration with Davis of late.
Notable features of Tango include the subtle, yet encompassing curvature, providing good ergonomics and a distinctive aesthetic. The chair also features a unique contrasting grain, ”horizontal on the upper back and vertical in the middle portion and seat,” making for a nice duo of opposition and interplay which may reference the dramatic Argentinian dance from whence Tango takes its name.
Options include different varieties of veneer and colors of upholstery, available in multiple combinations.
