At NeoCon 2018: Award-Winning Debuts from Humanscale
Kudos to Humanscale for 35 years of ergonomic workplace solutions. And kudos again for not being content to rest on past laurels and continuing to push the design envelope-as evinced at NeoCon this week with product debuts of the Summa Executive Chair and Nova Task Light.
The latter-NeoCon Silver honoree for Furniture-Integrated Desktop/Task lighting-is a supremely functional yet surprisingly affordable LED light with a silhouette thin as a sheet of paper.
Nova moves every which way with the merest nudge, yet holds its position with equal aplomb. The simple arms articulate fully and freely, enabling precision lighting at any position. Nova also offers an intuitive dimming function and a glare-free light source-a perfect nimbus of lovely white light.
Summa also does its part to make the workspace more habitable. The chair offers a refined and elegant aesthetic while achieving advanced ergonomics.
To complete its luxe look, Summa incorporates the height-adjustment handle into the seat, obviating the need for exposed levers and redundant adjustments: "Like all Humanscale chairs, recline tension is automatically established by the sitter's weight. For added support and comfort, the chair also features integrated armrests that move with the user as the chair reclines."
Humanscale was also awarded best of NeoCon Silver in the Furniture Systems and Enhancements category for their line of monitor arms, featuring a unique weight-compensating spring technology for ease of adjustment and enhanced support-accommodating monitors up to 48 pounds.
As with all Humanscale products, the new additions are ecologically-minded, incorporating sustainable principles including absence of red-list chemicals and carbon neutral manufacturing protocol. For additional information, see Humanscale.
