Tom Dixon's new Wingback Collection is a contemporary re-imagining of an iconic classic.

The Wingback-first popularized as fireside seating in 17th. Century English manor homes-has a long and distinguished history. The high back and winged arm are designed to capture the warmth of the hearth while shielding the user's back and sides from chilly drafts.

Tom Dixon's version first appeared in 2007 as a prototype of British classics for London's famed Shoreditch House Members Club.

The latest collection includes the addition of the Micro Wingback, while re-engineering and re-mastering the earlier pieces into an organic, curvaceous extravaganza.

The daring design still fills the requisite functions of privacy and warmth, while establishing a whole new, and wholly unprecedented, aesthetic.
