Passage Wooden Trays by VANTOT
What began as a single patterned piece of carpet created by Esther Jongsma for her 2013 graduation project, has since blossomed into a collection of patterned pieces for VANTOT.
For her Plateau trays, Jongsma, who represents half of the design team at VANTOT, a Netherlands-based design firm, used laser-cutting technology to create flat wooden trays made of contrasting pieces of layered white oak. The result is a series of modern pieces infused with graphic patterns in contrasting colors like black and white, blue and white, and brown and white.
In addition to trays, Jongsma also creates tabletops using the same technique.
