New Textiles For 2016 From Kvadrat Maharam
Kvadrat have always been at the forefront of textiles for contract and home upholstery, and the Danish textile maker does not disappoint for 2016. Partnered with Maharam in the USA, we’ve chosen two of the most interesting textiles released at this year’s early fairs.
Naturally coloured Molly 2, an update of Molly, is an upholstery textile with a delicate and simple appearance designed by Åsa Pärson. Available in 15 colourways, of which 11 are new. Made from Norwegian carded woollen yarn and New Zealand combed yarn. The idea behind Molly was to create a basic textile using the yarn as its starting point. Naturally coloured, it derives its appearance from the way the yarns are mixed.
From Scholten & Baijings for Maharam comes Bright Angle, Bright Cube, and Bright Grid. The 40% cotton, 33% polyester, 27% nylon textiles are designed to be used together to create interesting geometrical relationships. Rendered in a fluorescent spectrum of specially dyed nylon yarns, the series is available in 5 colourways.
