Milan Preview-Scavolini Debuts New Kitchen And Bathroom Concept By Nendo
Ahead of next month’s mammoth EuroCucina show in Milan during the Salone del Mobile 2016, Italian kitchen brand Scavolini has provided a sneak peek of its new Ki collection designed by Oki Sato’s renowned Japanese studio Nendo.
Fine Italian craftsmanship meets Japanese simplicity in Scavolini’s new Ki kitchen and bathroom concept by Nendo
Two central elements – a bowl-shaped container and a wooden shelf – create a versatile storage system and aesthetic that is echoed throughout the design from the basin and extraction hood to the cooktop.
Meaning both ‘container’ and ‘wood’ in Japanese, the versatile Ki collection is designed for use in both bathroom and kitchen environments.
Featuring all the hallmarks of Scavolini’s Italian quality manufacturing with finely-worked details, Ki is available in an exclusive range of decorative finishes specifically created for Scavolini. Choices include two wood-effect surfaces that combine artisan know-how with advanced technology.
“The basic concept, the basic story about this kitchen is trying to make it hidden in two objects, because the kitchen is basically filled with so many objects,” says designer Oki Sato of Nendo. “I want to make it hidden with wooden shelves and a white bowl, that was the initial idea that I had in mind.”
The KI collection will be exhibited from April 12th to 17th at Eurocucina, Hall 15 Stand A15/B16
