West Elm’s New Office Furniture Is Designed To Make the Office Feel Less ‘Office-like’
Launched at last month’s NeoCon, the new office division of West Elm, West Elm Workspace, caters to the need for mobility and flexibility in office design.
West Elm introduces West Elm Workspace with a new line of 75+ pieces of furniture for the modern office
Designed to make the office feel less ‘office-like’, West Elm Workspace’s 75+ piece office offering was created in collaboration with award-winning designer and manufacturer of office furniture, Inscape.
"We are introducing West Elm Workspace to the market at a time when meaningful change in the way offices are designed is needed. We carefully considered how people utilize and map their space; then we set out to create a full suite of solutions for the way we work now," said Jim Brett, West Elm president. "We will offer conducive space solutions that expand and contract when needed, providing both focused and collaborative environments. The combination of West Elm's great design with Inkscape technical expertise yields functional solutions with the warmth and design appeal you only expect to find at home."
The pieces include private offices; tables; benching systems; task, guest, occasional and lounge seating; storage; and accessories, in addition to sit-stand options and ergonomic solutions that facilitate wellness in the work environment.
A line of customized conference tables made in a variety of finishes by Brooklyn-based, furniture designer Mark Jupiter are a particular highlight while fabrics by Designtex offer colorful and layered patterns favoring an eclectic mix of warm, natural materials and texture.
Designed by West Elm and produced and distributed in North America by Inscape and Designtex, the pieces are split into four collections – Mid-century, Modern, Industrial and Contemporary.
In connection with the West Elm Workspace debut, Inscape will launch F.I.R.E., a visual application aid that integrates industry-leading technology to create a single customer-centric solution unlike any other available. F.I.R.E. (or Fully Integrated Resource for Enterprise Management) will help designers and clients visualize project design solutions.
