Soho and Santorini Extensions by Marset
At Euroluce 2015, Barcelona-based lighting company Marset introduced extensions to Soho and Santorini, two of its popular collections. The industrial Soho, which is designed by Joan Gaspar, is now available in two exterior versions, wall and ceiling. Santorini has also added two ceiling and wall versions featuring a more traditional attachment system.
Wall and Ceiling Versions for Outdoor Spaces
Soho, "reminiscent of the lamps that were traditionally used in markets and taverns," has a molded polyethylene shade and metal structure. The new exterior versions of Soho have a tube structure "that allows the product to be used in a more architectural way," which works well for facades and outdoor spaces. Available in White, Stone Grey, and Black, Soho emits light meant "to create pleasant atmospheres," explains designer Joan Gaspar.
Created by Sputnik Estudio, Santorini lamps are now offered in ceiling and wall versions with a more conventional attachment system. The tube structure gives Santorini "a more solid appearance." Based on lanterns found on fishing boats, Santorini outdoor lamps are customizable, allowing users to create multiple compositions: "Users can choose how many shades to place on the diffuser, along with their order, position and direction." Santorini comes in White, Grey, and Mustard.
