Crassevig Debuts a Lightweight Off-kilter Side Table by David Geckeler and Frank Michels
Designed by David Geckeler and Frank Michels for Italian brand Crassevig, the Bias coffee table is a study in balance and poise.
Off-kilter but perfectly balanced, the Bias table is part of Crassevig’s 2015 collection
Composed of a inclined cylindrical base and flat truncated circular top, both in veneered plywood, the sloping design is inspired by graphic art, in which pure geometric shapes such as circles and cylinders are transformed by simple cuts, inclinations and intersections.
Thanks to the use of a special matching technique, there are no visible joints between the panels, while the gap between the truncated top and the base serves as a handle.
Standing at 45 cm tall, the lightweight table’s height was specifically chosen so that the top is ideally positioned for use with chairs, armchairs and sofas.
Customers can choose between a 35 cm or a 50 cm diameter base.
