Tables, Stools, and Lounge Collection by Barber Osgerby for Knoll
Designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have created a series of tables and stools based on the tripod, as well as a series of lounge furniture that emphasizes ease. Created for Knoll, the new pieces are intended for both industrial tasks and residential settings.
Barber Osgerby Collection Features Tripod Structure and Signature Legs
An interpretation of the "familiar tripod structure," the new lines of stools and tables have a beautiful balance that reminds me of the song "Three is the Magic Number" (made famous is the 1970s on Sesame Street). Available in fixed height and adjustable versions, the stools come in black, gray, white, and red coral with seats in black, aluminum, teal, and ebonized ash. A coordinating table is versatile and just the right size, measuring just over 21 inches in height and 16 inches in diameter.
The Lounge Collection offers an armchair, ottoman, and several different-sized sofas. The series has a transparent title, as the upholstered furniture conveys relaxation and ease-the Lounge Collection inspires one to lounge, in other words. Of particular interest is the Asymmetric Sofa, with its variously sized cushions. All Lounge pieces have signature legs in chrome or painted finishes like red or black lacquer.
