Roi, Fou, and Mat by Christophe Delcourt for Avenue Road
Meet three new pieces by French designer Christophe Delcourt, Roi, Mat, and Fou. The stools for Avenue Road, the Toronto-based furniture brand, showcase French walnut and leather. Each of the styles features a different shape, executed beautifully in varnished wood, topped with a curved leather seat. The result is luxurious and whimsical.
French Walnut Stools with Sumptuous Leather
Roi, meaning king, has the most ornate base, which resembles a chess piece. Fou, which translates as crazy, features a mushroom-shaped base with a cutout. Its negative space creates a sense of mystery. Finally, Mat (meaning matt) has a solid base shaped like a gumdrop. All three stools-Roi, Fou, and Mat-combine luscious materials with playful designs. The French walnut is highlighted in the base shape, which showcases the wood grain's beautiful lines and curves.
