Palisade Collection by Nemschoff and Herman Miller Wins 7 Industry Awards
Since its June 2014 launch, the Palisade Collection has earned an impressive total of seven design awards, including Chicago Athenaeum Good Design, Nightingale Best of Show, NeoCon Silver, Record Products Winner by Architectural Record and Best of Year by Interior Design. Created by Jess Sorel of Sorel Studio for Nemschoff and Herman Miller, the Palisade Collection represents a paradigm shift in healthcare design-because it focuses on family and guests instead of the patient.
Furniture Solution Focuses on Family/Guests of Patients
Based on research showing "the presence of family members can improve patient communication, satisfaction, and outcomes," the Palisade Collection offers a welcoming, stylish, multi-functional suite of furniture that includes seating, technology support, lighting, storage, sleeping, and work space. Palisade Flop Sofa is a seating area that converts to a sleep surface. It also features optional lighting and technology so guests can work comfortably. Palisade Flop Sofa is a wonderful example of how good design leads to better health, providing a "solution that elevates the critical role of guest and family support to improve outcomes."
The Palisade Collection also transfers seamlessly to other healthcare spaces. Furniture pieces can be used in lounges, waiting rooms, and public areas, where guests will enjoy feeling welcome. Nemschoff understands that "the experience of waiting can influence the perception of care."
