At London Design Festival 2014: Saddle Chair by Angell Wyller Aarseth
Christoffer Angell, Øyvind Wyller, and Simen Aarseth, the Norwegian trio behind the Oslo Chair for Berhardt, is debuting another noteworthy chair at this year's London Design Festival. Created for Slåke, the Norwegian factory known for its wooden craftsmanship, Saddle Chair by Angell Wyller Aarseth is also helping to celebrate the company's 75th anniversary.
Solid Wood and Soft Upholstery with a Perfect Pocket
Hailed as "the first step into the future" for Slåke, Saddle Chair will be shown this September at London Design Festival. A "modest and friendly chair," Saddle is full of contrast. With its solid wood and soft upholstery, Saddle Chair is like a soft nest on a rigid branch. The chair's overhanging upholstery folds over the arms, giving Saddle its name. This feature also creates an ideal spot for the day's newspaper. Saddle Chair is a perfect perch with a perfect pocket.
