More adventurous colors and tactile finishes are beginning to creep into the kitchen and bathroom space. While matte black has been a key trend, these softer shades of dusky gray can be mixed and matched to create a palette of textured tonal color.

Italian bathroom brand Cielo have launched a new line of colors and finishes inspired by nature including this soft gray shade.


The eight colors that make up Barber Osgerby‘s Mews collection for Mutina are inspired by the landscape, the history and the personality of the British capital. Each color way is made up of a palette of many shades to mimic the effect of natural tones and variations in light and shade.

Cast in porcelain, the Tidewater tiles by Rodolfo Dordoni for Portland-based tile and stone brand Ann Sacks feature a softly striated pattern that's made from up to 25% recycled materials. The irregularity of the tile design gives the surface character and movement.

Ziva by Artistic Tile

This dark gray sculptural stone tile features an undulating pattern inspired by nature. Called Ziva, each tile is hand carved and uses a combination of a polished and a honed finish.
