New Handpainted Collections from Fireclay Tile
Artisanal tile design company, Fireclay Tile, recently acquired Kibak Tile in Sisters, OR and with it, the talents of its founder Susanne Redfield, who has formally joined the Fireclay Tile team. With over 35 years experience as the leader in hand painted tile, Susanne has refreshed the look and feel of Fireclay's traditional aesthetic with bold contemporary patterns.
Susanne Redfield introduces three new Handpainted Collections to Fireclay Tile’s portfolio
Called Contemporary, Moroccan and Mediterranean, the new Handpainted Collections are inspired by the simple beauty of wall coverings and textiles. Each 70 percent recycled clay tile is handcrafted using a proprietary wax resist technique that originated in 16th century Persia. First the tile’s surface is screen printed with a pattern, then skilled artisans hand paint lead-free glazes within the lines of each pattern.
The finished product exhibits a brilliant attention to detail with subtle textures created by the contrasting flat lines and slightly thicker glazed surfaces. The decorative tiles are offered in 8"x8" and 6"x12" sizes, perfect for accent pieces or brilliant feature installations in indoor hospitality, commercial, retail and residential settings.
Made up of eight distinct patterns in sophisticated neutral colors, the timeless Contemporary Collection features graphic pattern as well as beautifully soft, organic lines that lend a couture element seldom found in ceramic tile.
Embracing the diverse and cultural designs of Persia, the thirteen patterns that make up the Moroccan Collection blend time-honored, classic patterns with present-day designs that exemplify understated elegance. Perfect for a bold flooring statement or dramatic feature wall.
Interpreting 'Spanish Modern' culture and old-world aesthetic, the exuberant Mediterranean Collection is made up of eleven lively and colorful designs ranging from the deep blues of the sky and ocean, to terracotta warm tones and glimpses of red, yellow, and forest greens.
In addition, Fireclay Tile also recently announced the industry’s first direct-to-consumer online tile experience, allowing consumers to customize and purchase tile directly from the Fireclay website.
