2014 Collection by Domitalia
At next month’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, Italian brand Domitalia will launch a collection of concrete furniture as well as a line of coffee tables and chairs with brightly-colored wire frames. All are designed by Radice Orlandini.
Domitalia will launch a new collection of versatile furniture and lighting designs by Radice Orlandini at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2014.
Each piece from Domitalia’s new Urban Collection is set in a sturdy cast concrete base, while stems and surfaces are made from anthracite or white lacquered metal, MDF or HPL. The extensive collection includes a coat rack, bookshelf, lamp, tables, chairs and a screen. Domitalia explain that the collection is a celebration of concrete – a material that is ordinarily considered unsightly: “We have uncovered the material and highlighted all its hues, its inconsistencies and its splendid imperfections.”
Suitable for use both indoors and out, the Cross coffee and end tables are supported by a colored metal rod structure that cuts through the high-pressure laminate top to create an X-shape on the table’s surface. Available in two sizes, two heights and with three different colored frames, the Cross tables can be used almost anywhere.
Similar in appearance to the Cross tables, Traffic is a light but sturdy chair that is available with a cantilever or four-legged frame in a choice of six colors. The frames can be combined with a seat and back in light gray, white or black plastic or upholstered in white, taupe, light gray, dark gray or mustard fabric. Suitable for residential, hospitality and offices settings, the Traffic is a truly universal design.
