Writing Desks: Luxury Trend
Although letter-writing may be a dwindling art, the writing desk lives on. In place of piles of paper and pens are digital devices, whose tangled wires and accompanying accessories can occupy precious desktop space. Crafted in traditional materials such as solid wood and leather, these modern writing desks provide tech-savvy workers with ample hidden storage without compromising on craftsmanship or quality.
At either end of the new Pegasus desk‘s leather desktop, two finely perforated leather flaps fold up to reveal a network of storage compartments below. Designed by Tilla Goldberg for German brand Classicon, the compartments provide the perfect for hideaway for digital devices and desk clutter.
Called Ernest, this classically-designed, solid wood desk by Spanish brand Punt is equipped with a channel in its back leg that provides cable management, and a handy storage compartment under a flip-top lid for digital devices.
AELLON Contemporary Sustainable Furniture’s Danish-influenced Mead writing desk features clean, simple lines and impeccable craftsmanship. Two pull-out, soft close drawers below the desktop provide space for papers and devices while a storage shelf along the back of the desktop provides a display area.
Roberto Lazzeroni’s mid-century-inspired desk for Ceccotti is made from solid oak and veneered poplar plywood. Interior compartments in zebrawood with brass hardware are concealed under the leather-lined, flip-up desktop and behind door panels on either leg.
British brand SCP’s perfectly proportioned Cedric desk by Kay+Stemmer is traditionally crafted from solid European walnut and features a leather top and leather lined drawers.
