Combining a light frame, a thin top and handy drop leaf storage compartment, Zanotta’s Calamo desk is an elegant yet practical design.

Created by young Rome-based designer Gabriele Rosa, the desk features a varnished steel frame available in black , chrome and graphite finishes while the top and storage space are lined with a warm and luxurious leather. Rosa explains, "The identity of Calamo is made of rigor, simplicity and refinement of materials. ”

She continues, "With this design, I tried to transform a traditional furniture piece into something lighter, comfortable and versatile: not an old writing desk with drawers overflowing with paper but a furniture piece, that is essential both in functionality and aesthetics, that can be placed in various home environments."
