Paper Textiles by Marian de Graaff
Dutch designer Marian de Graaff has created a series of textiles made from a blend of paper and cotton yarns using different crochet and knit stitches.
Natural, lightweight and translucent, each of Marian de Graaff’s tactile Paper Textiles boast unique irregular structures and textures.
Called Zand1 and Zand2, the machine washable textiles can be used for a variety of interior applications including wall hangings, room dividers, curtains, cushions and even clothing.
Because the paper is untreated, the fibers are hygroscopic and will expand and shrink in humidity, changing the appearance of the whole textile.
