Let’s go outside: Kitchen Trend
In recent years, the concept of outdoor cooking has evolved from installing a simple grill in the back yard to creating complete al fresco kitchen and dining areas. These fully equipped spaces are now so luxurious that they easily rival the indoor kitchen and dining rooms. We round up five of the best examples on the market.
The bbqube Outdoor Kitchen by code2design for OCQ was the winner of a prestigious Innovation Award at last month’s imm Cologne in Germany. Michael Schmidt of code2design says: “We wanted to not only barbecue outdoors but to also bring the entire process starting from food preparation down to the actual food consumption outside, extending the enjoyment and fun of cooking and barbecuing.” A single unit measuring 180 x 70 x 27 cm, rests on two three-legged trestles made of solid wood. The barbecue grill / hob units are available as a charcoal/gas combination or as a large gas grill, and the multi-level sink offers high functionality with various accessories.
Presented for the first time at last year’s Milan Furniture Fair, Antonio Citterio’s Artusi Outdoor Kitchen for Arclinea features worktops and doors in AISI 316 steel and stainless steel external surfaces. The carcasses are made with Okoum© marine ply and the built-in barbecue is by Fulgor.
Made from stainless steel, corian and oak, Joko’s CunKitchen is a sophisticated modular kitchen system with a teppanYaki griddle and induction hob. The teppanYaki surface allows simple and healthy sizzling of vegetables, fish or meat, while the induction hob enables the use of pots and pans with impressive power and speed. All appliances are powered electrically (230V) and are therefore fully flexible in operation.
The outdoor kitchens by Dutch brand WWOO are made up of modular grey or anthracite components that allow you to create your own custom configuration. Ranging from simple layouts to more elaborate designs, kitchens can include an outdoor bathroom or a handy outdoor work area
Atlantis Outdoor Kitchens are made with weatherproof Perma Panel engineering and are available in woods such as Teak and Cypress. Atlantis also offers built-in grills and grill accessories from trusted names in outdoor appliances such as Lynx, Vermont Castings, Summit and Marvel.
