Midtown Collection by KnollTextiles
For Winter 2013, KnollTextiles has introduced the Midtown Collection.
With names like ‘Rush Hour’, ‘Commuter Cloth’ and ‘Journey’, the new Midtown Collection from KnollTextiles celebrates Knoll New York’s move to Midtown Manhattan.
The Midtown Collection, designed in honor of Knoll's move from Chelsea to Midtown Manhattan, comprises foundation textiles for walls as well as upholstery, with a rich, saturated palette of clean, clear color. Included are 3 fabrics from the KT Collection of affordable modern design, which were created in particular for high performance and high durability. The collection also includes five new upholsteries (including six new colors for Ultrasuede) – Journey, Commuter Cloth, Rush Hour, Tilden – and two new wall coverings called Express and Transfer.
Journey is a a classic boucl© fabric made of 50% recycled polyester and available in a wide range of 18 colors.
Made of 75% post-consumer recycled content, Commuter Cloth is a piece dyed fabric that uses a resist yarn to create a two-toned effect.
Rush Hour is a subtle texture with a slight figure eight pattern. It uses a high sheen twist yarns to create a two-tone effect.
Tilden is a polyurethane upholstery that contains a subtle undulating stripe, giving it texture and dimension. Tilden is made with Cleangene technology, which means that it is stain resistant, highly durable, and bleach solution cleanable. This makes it an excellent choice for hospitality and healthcare.
The six new Ultrasuede colors bring the total number of Ultrasuede colors available up to 97. Benefits include multi-use, 80% post-industrial recycled content, over 200,000 double rubs, and easy cleanability. It can also be used for wallcovering and wrapped acoustical panels.
The new Wallcoverings include Express, an understated texture that seams beautifully, and Transfer an elegant grasscloth-type fabric made using a sophisticated twist yarn with Teflon® soil and stain repellent.
