Just in time for the colder winter months, Danish brand Normann Copenhagen has launched a new pillow collection called ‘Cloud‘.

Rounded and plump, Simon Legald's new pillow design for Normann Copenhagen is called Cloud.

Created by the Danish designer Simon Legald, Cloud features a firm core and a curved shape giving it a friendly and welcoming expression.

Just like a child’s drawing of a cloud, the hollows in the pillow form a gently arched pattern that is also reminiscent of a chesterfield sofa. The design is balanced by the precisely cut foam core and upholstered fabric that is carefully stitched deep into the pillow.

Simon Legald says: “I wanted to create a cushion that was comfortable and could spring back into shape. So you don't need to fluff up the cushion after use. To achieve this, foam was the perfect material. The foam also allowed us to use classic upholstery techniques to give the cushion exactly the look I wanted. That would not, for example, have been possible with a down filling. In that way, the cushion’s material, function and design all form a whole.”
