About the designer: DW/S was founded in 2005 by Derek Welsh, a designer and maker of contemporary furniture products and bespoke interior projects with the focus on design and modern craftsmanship. Derek served his apprenticeship with a small carpentry firm in Scotland where he gained an immeasurable knowledge of traditional techniques and woodworking skills. Derek has exhibited at 100% Design, London for three years, and in 2007 he was invited by The Lighthouse to exhibit at The Scottish Show part of the Six Cities Design Festival.
