Drift Collection by Pallas Textiles
As sages from Walter Benjamin to Woody Allen have remarked, mass production has its advantages, but it can also result in too much of the same-old, same-old. Even so, manufacturer Pallas Textiles has a found a way to harness technology in order to produce variety. The Drift collection is thus a pleasant surprise, as it satisfies our desire for the unexpected, "the twist or design that takes us on a new and sometimes circuitous path."
Take the Road Less Traveled with Drift Textiles
Designed by Laura Guido Clark, the collection is comprised of four different lines, each with their own distinctive personality.
"Field Play" embraces the link between nature and geometry with unusually beautiful floral patterns; "Patina" appears solid but actually offers subtly appealing textural variation; "Fracture" joins the iconic emblem of spiraling cracks in ice to a pattern of colorful octagons; and "Off Track" offers a series of compelling undulations that evoke a circuitous and hilly road.
Fabrics in the Drift line contain post-consumer recycled polyester. Field Play, Fracture, and Off Track incorporate Greenshield, a nanotechnology fabric offering superior spill and stain resistance.
Patina is a Sunbrella contract fabric engineered for outdoor use. It offers excellent inhibition of bacteria, fungus, mold, and mildew, "allowing the fabrics to be used in applications where normal fabrics will not perform."
