Top Five Products from NY NOW 2013
There was no shortage of well-designed pieces at NY NOW 2013, formerly known as NYIGF. From pottery to accent furniture to lighting to textile, the Accent on Design portion of the show this year showcased some of the brightest upcoming designers and some of our traditional favorites with new products. Here are the top five products we saw at NY NOW:
Designed by Selab and Alessandro Zambelli for Seletti, the Bouche lamp comes in blue, violet, and amber, and combines glass and wood to create a uniquely soft, and slightly antique, ambiance.
Much like its porcelain planters, Light + Ladder‘s shelves are suspended with natural leather straps, and are made with locally sourced ash wood.
South African Mungo Design woven fabrics come in a variety of forms, such as towels, blankets, table linens, throws, and more. The textiles are made by hand on 100 year old power looms, as well as modern Dornier looms, by local crafters, and use natural fibers like wool, mohair, chenille, and bamboo to ensure high-quality, thoughtful products.
Atipico Balloon lamps, designed by Giorgia Zanellato, are inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns and come in three different shapes and sizes. They feature lacquered metal rod frames in colors like golden yellow and turquoise, and linen or cotton lampshades.
The Nodate Chabu table is a foldable piece of art with the surface being made from a strong and lightweight Japanese wood, and the supports from flexible plywood. The table can be taken apart so you can fold the top in half and easily transport or maneuver it in a space.
