2013 Collection by Fontana Arte
Presented earlier this year at Euroluce 2013, Italian lighting brand Fontana Arte presented its 2013 Collection. This year the iconic brand chose to work with up-and-coming talents to produce a playful collection full of color and energy.
Comprising table, floor and pendant lamps, Fontana Arte’s 2013 Collection is designed by a new generation of design talent from around the world.
Collection highlights include GamFratesi‘s Cheshire lamps that were inspired by the grinning Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland; the Blom lamp by Swedish designer Andreas Engesvik, which features rotatable ‘petals’ that can direct and control the light; and Albedo by Studio Drift whose machine washable fabric shade is inspired by the flowing movement of jellyfish.

About the Manufacturer: Founded by architect Gio Ponti in 1932, Fontana Arte sought to explore the possibilities of glass as a material for interiors. The original collection included "furniture, lamps, and objects with glass as the main distinguishing feature." Many of these pieces served to complement the houses that Ponti designed. Fontana Arte is able to continue its tradition of innovative lighting by working with designers around the world and focusing on Ponti's original aesthetic philosophy. The company believes in "seeking beauty through technology."
