At this year’s ICFF, Wüd Furniture Design showed off its unique collection of metal and resin furniture. The Brooklyn-based Wüd uses their signature material, Pb-R, to create sleek, modest furniture that resists scratches, heat and stains. Pb-R is a unique, revolutionary material produced by encasing metal in a clear epoxy resin. The resulting surface is industrial looking yet incredibly smooth to the touch. It allows the aesthetic properties of the metal to show through while also keeping the metal safe from corrosion.

Founder, Corey Springer, draws his inspiration from Japanese design and his background in sculpture design, both figuring prominently in his design process. All of Wüd’s pieces demonstrate fine craftsmanship and high quality materials. Wüd’s mission is to create innovative and contemporary designs with strong, classical joinery so that each piece is exceptionally durable.

Wüd creates furniture that is elegant yet practical: furniture you display, but that you never have to place off limits.

With Brass legs, a Black Walnut top, and flush Br-R (Brass encased in Resin) sides, the Nola Coffee Table is an impressive piece. The unique tabletop highlights the elegance of both the wood and metal.

The Sterling Dining Table has a Zn-R (Zinc encased in Resin) table top and White Ash legs. The table is stunning to behold and smooth to the touch.

The Black and Grey Buffet is an excellent example of Wüd’s range of materials. The hot rolled steel doors are highlighted by a strip of Santos Rosewood, and the entire buffet is enveloped in Zn-R (Zinc Encased in Resin). The simplicity of the design accentuates each material’s natural beauty.

About the Manufacturer: Wüd was conceived in 2002 by its founder, Corey Springer, a sculpture design graduate from the University of Massachusetts. Springer's work draws inspiration from Japanese design and his background in sculpture. There is also a clear emphasis on superb craftsmanship that is apparent in all of Wüd's creations. The inspired and beautifully crafted creations include striking combinations such as Red Gum Wood and Pb-R, and Australian Walnut and HRS-R (Hot Rolled Steel encased in Resin).
