Designed specifically as a learning tool to teach children the wonder and value of growing their own food, Eat Play Grow by Ruth Vatcher is a simple oak table with multifunctional components. The idea is for children to participate in the life cycle of the food they eat and thereby promote a healthy lifestyle: "The child is encouraged to grow herbs or vegetables as well as prepare the food. The table is designed to be simple and subtle, integrating healthy living into a child’s life from a young age." Eat Play Grow invites kids to play with their food!
Oak Grow Table for Education
Eat Play Grow features an herb sprouting tray, a cutting board for food prep, a watering pot, and a felt storage system. The creation of Ruth Vatcher, a recent graduate in 3D Design from University College Falmouth, Eat Play Grow table represents her overall aesthetic vision to make "simple and functional designs which respond to a user's needs."
About the Designer: Ruth Vatcher designs simple and functional interior products. A recent graduate from University College Falmouth with a first class honours in 3D Design, Vatcher likes to investigate function: "I strive to combine aesthetics with a need, which is discovered through intensive research into a particular user group."
