ICFF 2013: New Colony Furniture
Spotted at ICFF, this intriguing line of upholstered chairs by Brooklyn-based company New Colony Furniture, transform hard materials into soft surfaces.
New Colony Furniture uses traditional upholstery techniques on unconventional upholstery materials.
Annie Evelyn, founder of New Colony Furniture, began experimenting with concrete upholstery in graduate school and expanded to other hard materials like wood metal and even crystals when she received a Windgate Grant for furniture in 2011.
Now, working with wood, concrete, metal, and crystals, New Colony Furniture presents a whole series of soft/hard upholstered chairs that will be on display at ICFF, booth 2462 until Tuesday.
