Helix Collection by Chris Hardy for Design Within Reach
Launched this month, Helix is a new collection of side and coffee tables by young designer Chris Hardy for Design Within Reach.
Inspired by Design Within Reach's classic, modern aesthetic the Helix tables by Chris Hardy make a statement about planned irregularity.
Made from walnut, brass and glass, the Helix tables feature striking asymmetrical base designs that require no tools for assembly. A series of brass castings connect the walnut legs together, bringing both structure and pattern.
A series of glass top options, including round, oval and square, are available, allowing the consumer to select a shape that suits their space.

About the Manufacturer: Design Within Reach is an American brand that was founded in 1999 by Rob Forbes with the goal of making authentic modern design accessible. Forbes was inspired to launch the business after trying to furnish his apartment with the clean, simple classics he'd come to appreciate while living in London, and discovering that the work of designers like Saarinen, Eames and Bertoia were "out of reach" of most people. By giving customers access to the best in modern design - including iconic works that have been in production since the mid-20th century as well as innovative items designed today - the company made design within reach.
About the designer: Chris Hardy is an American industrial designer based in Atlanta. Born in Houston in 1984, he pursued an education of design, receiving a BFA from the College for Creative Studies and a Masters of Design from the School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After returning to the United States in 2009 he began his career as a freelance designer collaborating with companies for both industrial and graphic design. His clients include interior design firms, retail stores, furniture and lighting manufacturers, and design publications. Industrial design services included the designing of furniture and lighting collections for contract and residential sectors involving close working relationship with both engineers and manufacturers.
