Carnegie

introduces Xorel – the world’s first Biobased high performance interior textile. These new products offer the exact same beauty and performance the renowned Xorel brand has delivered for more than 30 years.

After seven years in development, Carnegie now offers a true plant-based product with a significantly reduced carbon-foot print. Containing a remarkable bio content between 60-85%, Biobased Xorel has been completely vetted through third party certifications.

Biobased Xorel is constructed of 60 to 85% bio content derived from sugar cane plant. Additionally, the sugar cane plant content captures and sequesters 2.5 tons of carbon for every ton of raw material produced. The U.S. government guidelines require products to have 25% bio content to be labeled as Biobased product, but Biobased Xorel far exceeds that requirement at 60-85% bio content.

The best part is that the textiles retain the same great Xorel performance – no tradeoff in performance for enhanced sustainability. Furthermore, the product can be cleaned aggressively with a multitude of cleaners including diluted bleach due to its X-Protect backing.

Carnegie sponsors a Responsible Return Program which means all Xorel products can be returned to Carnegie at the end of their useful life for proper reuse.
