Milan 2013: Copper + Design + Light
Spotted at Milan Design Week this month, these sculptural copper wall lights and tiles, called Lum panels, are the work of Chilean designers Q Studio.
Chile-based Q Studio support their local copper industry by creating contemporary lighting and wall panels.
Great for living, bedroom and hallways, the panels are available as uplights, downlights and as plain copper tiles. An array of stunning configurations can be created y using the three designs together.
In addition to being particularly beautiful, copper has antimicrobial properties, too. It kills 99.9% of microorganisms in comes into contact with and the panels’ anchor sistema allows for quick and easy installation.
About the manufacturer: Q studio is a Chile-based lighting company which manufactures all of its own products. The products are made in Colina Prison, in Santiago, as part of a prisoners' rehabilitation program. The studio are also passionate about supporting the local copper trade in Chile.
