60s Reverb: The Wild America Line by Pallas Textiles
In the A&D community at large, one doesn't hear much talk about the counter-culture climate of the 60s, even though that zeitgeist is rife for aesthetic and stylistic exploration. Let manufacturer Pallas Textiles be the first to bridge the gap. The company's Wild America line incorporates this vibrant 60s ethos into a new collection of supremely functional textiles-"a range of sophisticated, high-performance, sustainable fabrics that celebrates the influences of art, music, life, and pop culture."
Wild America's "Reverb," "Stereo Stripe," and "Halftone"
The line is comprised of five different designs, each evoking a specific 60s moment, movement, or leitmotif.
Reverb celebrates the confluence of guitar auteur Leo Fender and musician Dick Dale with an eclectic linear pattern that approximates an electronic sound wave. Stereo Stripe is a multi-textured pattern suggestive of the psychedelic anthems of Jimmy Hendrix and Cream. And Halftone recalls the art-as-production ethos and aesthetic of Andy Warhol.
Other styles in the Wild America line include Grill Cloth and Modern Blaze. Pallas Textiles offers each incarnation of Wild America in multiple colorways-from the relative restraint of Reverb's White Heat to the exuberant joie de vivre of Grill Cloth's Orange Tolex.
As with all their fabrics, textiles in the Wild America line are sustainable and functional. Features such as post-consumer recycled content, Nanotex spill resistance, and bleach-cleanability make Wild America appropriate for various venues, including residential, commercial, and healthcare.
