Erin Adams’ Collection for New Ravenna Mosaics
Renowned mosaic designer Erin Adams has created a new collection of 12 tile designs for Virginia-based New Ravenna Mosaics.
Erin Adams’ designs for New Ravenna Mosaics make colorful artworks out of everything from bottles to fishes.
Adams chose to use a color palette inspired by smalti - the opaque glass tiles that were originally developed for use in mosaics created during the Byzantine era. Ravenna Mosaic owner and founder Sara Baldwin said of the collaboration: "Erin really knows how to use color in a way that is bold without being overbearing."
Designs include Kente (top), a bold hand cut glass mosaic shown in Athos, Juhl, Blair, Rhode, Rolly and Obsidian. Coral (shown above) is an organic design made in hand cut Rose Quartz, Sardonyx, and Agate glass.
Bottles is a glass waterjet mosaic shown above in Moonstone, Opal and Tourmaline.
Floating Fish – a water jet jewel glass mosaic shown in Mica, Sardonyx, Garnet, Pearl, and Quartz,
Cityscape features water jet glass cut Pearl, Lavastone, and Tourmaline arranged into a striking architectural skyline.
